Frequently Asked Questions

You can reach MedPoint by phone, WhatsApp, e-mail and via our contact form. Our phone number is +5999 524 2944.
We are also available during weekends and evenings.
For life-threating situations please dial 912 for an ambulance.

We are open 7 days a week (Monday-Sunday) from 08.00 am to 09.00 pm.

MedPoint offers three types of consultations:

• Teleconsult / telehealth – in which we have contact over the phone (WhatsApp), give you advice and if necessary prescriptions are made.

• Consultation at our clinic – we are located next to the airport

• In-house visitation – we come visit you at your hotel/resort/apartment

Each type of consultation has a different price and it also depends if it is a weekday/evening or weekend. The consult is paid to Medpoint directly and you receive an invoice to send to your insurance afterwards.

It is not always necessary to meet a doctor physically. Telehealth, or teleconsult, is consulting with a doctor via your phone. This can be done by texting and/or (WhatsApp) calling.

No problem at all! Our doctors are more than happy to prescribe medication. The easiest way is to schedule a teleconsultation. We can then act quickly and ensure that the prescription is ready for pickup at the nearest pharmacy.

Unfortunately no, MedPoint does not take walk-in consultations. The reason is that the doctor might be away for a house-call and therefore not present at the clinic. We want to avoid disappointment of the doctor not being present.

Our clinic is located next to Hato Airport. After making an appointment with the doctor you will receive the location details.

MedPoint also offers in-house services, where the doctor comes to your hotel/resort/apartment.

Our doctors are fluent in English and Dutch.

After consultation payment directly takes place, preferably by (credit)card or online payment. After a teleconsultation you receive a payment link. After payment you receive a proof of payment from us that you can then send to your insurance.

For tourists or expats with a (Dutch/American) health insurance, costs are usually fully covered by the insurance company. MedPoint will provide you with the right documentation for the insurance company. In addition, you will receive a medical report which you can share with your own doctor back home.

Cancellations must be made 3 hours in advance. If the cancellation takes place within 3 hours before the consultation, we will charge the full consultation fee. Please call our doctor directly to cancel your appointment.

Yes, definitely. If possible, it’s best to send a photo of the wound to the doctor. Our doctor can meet you at your location and can bring all the supplies needed for this medical procedure. You can also come to our clinic.

Yes! MedPoint can rinse or clean out your ears if they are clogged with earwax. We have the equipment to do this both at our clinic or at the convenience of your own place of stay.

At Medpoint, we are committed to providing the highest quality care and service to our patients. However, we understand that there may be times when things don’t go as smoothly as we would like. Your feedback is invaluable to us, whether it’s a compliment to acknowledge a job well done or a complaint to help us improve. You can complete the complaints form on this page. When you experience pain in your ear(s), it is important to get your ears checked, since you might have an ear infection. There are cases in which flying with an ear infection is not recommended. If this is the case MedPoint can assist with the necessary paperwork and write a ‘non-fit-to-fly’ declaration.
Feel free to contact us for a consultation.

MedPoint can help. If you have a skin rash and you do not know what to do, we advice to schedule a teleconsult. Please send us photos of your rash and we can assist with prescriptions if necessary.
